Athens

Welcome to Athens

Athens is the city with the most glorious history in the world, a magical city worshipped by gods and people. It is the city where democracy was born, where the first theatrical plays were written, where the first modern Olympic Games were held; the Greek civilization is one of the oldest and biggest in Europe, stretching back more than 3000 years.

Here you can find dozens of monuments from the distant pant. Of course the most recognized is Acropolis, a hill in the center of city, with ancient temples and buildings. The biggest and most important is the Parthenon, which is dedicated to the goddess Athena. But apart from these and across the city you will find temples, libraries, bridges, museums and a lot of other monuments. A walk around the famous historic triangle – Plaka, Thission, Psyri – the old neighborhoods, reveal the coexistence of different eras. Old mansions, well-preserved ones and other worn down by time, luxurious department stores and small intimate shops, fancy restaurants and traditional taverns. If you are not a sightseeing lover, Athens offers options of entertainment that satisfy all tastes, with numerous theaters, various dining, nightlife and shopping options all around the city.

A few kilometers outside of Athens, there is the cosmopolitan Athens Riviera, in southernmost part of Attica, which offers beautiful sandy beaches, wonderful sea, yacht lined harbors, large shopping centers and nightclubs promising a true summer vacation. In this corner of Athens you’ll find organized, emerald water beaches, and rocky coves perfect for a swim. There is certainly no shortage of inviting sand or Blue Flag awards on stretches of coast like Mavro Lithari beach, the beaches at Anavyssos, Varkiza, Asteras Vouliagmenis, Kochilia in Lagonissi and many more. Luxury properties, palm trees, sea sports, sailing and even golf at the modern Glyfada Golf Club await you. Traditional taverns and gourmet restaurants serve freshly caught fish and when night falls, you’ll enjoy the coast’s nightlife in Alimos, Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza where the beach bars are filled with people enjoying their cocktails, dancing until dawn and making summer memories.

On the tip of this unique coastline, you’ll find Cape Sounion, where you’ll admire the Temple of Poseidon – one of the most significant monuments of Ancient Greece, and one of the most important attractions in Athens. The energy of the landscape is indescribable, and has inspired myths and legends.
